1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Consensus 2026 ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to make political donations through the Platform. General browsing of candidate information is available to all users.
3. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You agree to provide accurate and truthful information
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Political Donations
By making a donation through the Platform, you certify that:
- You are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident
- The donation is made from your own funds and not from a corporate or foreign source
- You are at least 18 years of age
- The information you provide (name, address, employer, occupation) is accurate
- You understand donations are subject to FEC reporting requirements and contribution limits
5. Candidate Information & Alignment Scores
We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date candidate information. However, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on the Platform.
Candidates are scored across four pillars — America First, MAHA, Antiwar, and Consensus — using a standardized questionnaire and/or editorial assessment by our team. Scores may be manually set or adjusted by site administrators. These scores, ratings, badges, and endorsements reflect our methodology and editorial judgment and should not be construed as official government ratings or endorsements.
"Shares Our Values" Icon Legend
On each candidate profile, the Shares Our Values section shows four boxes — one per pillar. Each box reflects the candidate's score on the 20-question Consensus 2026 Survey:
- Green check (≥ 75) — Aligned. Candidate strongly supports this pillar based on survey responses or a perfect score on that section.
- Faded gold check (50–74) — Partial alignment. Mixed survey responses on this pillar.
- Red X (< 50) — Opposite position. Candidate's record contradicts this pillar's priorities.
- Gray dash — Not yet surveyed. We do not have enough data to score this pillar.
The text inside each box is either a custom editorial note written by our team or an automatically generated sentence based on the candidate's score.
6. Alignment Questionnaire & Matching
The Platform offers a voluntary alignment questionnaire that generates scores across the four pillars listed above. By completing the questionnaire, you acknowledge that:
- Your responses are used to calculate alignment scores and generate candidate match rankings
- Match similarity percentages are algorithmic approximations, not editorial endorsements or recommendations
- Anonymous questionnaire results are stored in your browser session only and are not linked to personal information
- Signing in allows your scores to be saved to your account for future visits
- Match results should not be the sole basis for voting decisions — we encourage independent research

7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Submit false donation or volunteer information
- Attempt to circumvent campaign finance laws
- Scrape or harvest data from the Platform without authorization
- Interfere with the Platform's operation or security
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Consensus 2026 or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws. Public record data sourced from government databases remains in the public domain.
9. Limitation of Liability
Consensus 2026 is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
